Traverso-DAW, multitrack editing and recording

Traverso DAW

What is Traverso-DAW about

Traverso-DAW was started in 2006 as a research project in creating an audio recording and editing suite with a very fast interface that will run on any platform (Windows, Linux, Mac OS, BSD etc), and had it's first feature complete release in march of 2009 with version 0.49.0. The Interface (using mouse and keyboard together) was appreciated by many users, however Traverso never reached a mature enough and feature complete state to be usable for day to day usage, the planned 1.0 release.

This release generated very useful feedback on the mouse - keyboard concept, and although innovative the learning curve was steep and considered too complex. A revised and much simplified version was created in 2010 with the addition of more traditional user interface elements like menu's and dialog's, and the intend was to release this in 2011. For various reasons development was halted after 2011.

What's next

Development took of again in 2024, the revised version of the mouse-keyboard concept has been implemented and tested and is ready for release which we are very excited about, we'll let you know as soon as all the new features that were put in as well are fully tested and ready for release!
